Terms of service

Responsibilities should be as traceable as the work.

Last updated 26 August 2026Public working draft · not final customer terms

Knoy provides AI-assisted retrieval, evidence mapping, drafting and review tools for environmental project work. This page is a plain-language working draft and is not presented as a final, counsel-approved customer contract.

The governing terms for any production or procurement use are the terms separately agreed with Knoy. Legal counsel is still required before this page can become a final standard agreement.

Professional review remains required

Knoy outputs are working material. Users remain responsible for checking source context, citations, requirements, assumptions, generated text and exported documents. The service must not be treated as the final decision-maker for planning, legal, cultural heritage, ecological or regulatory matters.

Authority to use project material

Users must not upload documents, submissions, personal information, cultural heritage information or confidential material unless they have the rights, authority and appropriate project basis to process that material.

Account and project access

Users must keep their sign-in method secure, use only the projects they are authorised to access and promptly report suspected unauthorised access. Owners are responsible for assigning appropriate project roles to editors and reviewers.

Acceptable use

Users must not misuse the service, attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with its operation, process unlawful material or represent unreviewed AI-assisted content as an approved professional conclusion. The separate acceptable use working draft provides more detail.

Service changes and availability

Knoy is under active development. Features, model routes and operating arrangements may change. Any service levels, support commitments, warranties, liability positions, governing law and termination rights must be set out in an agreed customer contract; they are not established by this public working draft.

Privacy and data processing

The privacy approach explains current controls and open deployment decisions. A data processing addendum should be agreed where required for procurement, privacy or security review.
